OSTRANDER CIRCUS TRAIN SET - SCRATCH BUILT

SKU: CIRCUS-GW

$7,500.00

A circus train set that was scratch built by Arthur L. Ostrander of Elmira, NY.  Mr. Ostrander was a member of Circus Model Builders.  During his participation, the group included over 1,800 members broken down into seven lots made up of Rings.  Any two people could start a ring.  Mr. Ostrander's ring, the Tom Thumb, was organized in 1977 with two members.

Mr. Ostrander began building circus models in July 1971.  This set consists of 24 coach cars, 36 stock/animal cars, and 64 flat cars with various loads for a total of 124 cars.

Mr. Ostrander built 7 custom plywood boxes for the 124 units.

We have been told that he set up his trains at the Arnot Mall in Elmira at Christmas time for many years.

Each car shows much detail and workmanship.

Units will not be sold separately.

Please note that this set cannot be easily shipped.  Other arrangements would need to be made.  Please contact us if you have an interest in learning more about this remarkable set of circus cars.
